Effortless Being

Breathe in....
Breathe out....

That's all that is ever asked of us..
And not even that.

Notice how the benevolence that we are breathes the body, moves the body, allowing all thoughts, feelings and sensations to arise and fall away...

Notice how all of it is actually open space, swirling, vibrating in silence...

Is there anything to do? Is there anything to be?? Aren't we being lived, as Life itself....?

Effortless being - that is what we are. A soft breeze caressing a cheek...a wild storm whipping the waves... Let whatever comes, come...This is deep, safe, spontaneous Isness. No need to understand it, just being is all that is asked...

And not even that..

How loved must "we" be...?

This is a wonderful meditation. how do we get to a point where simplicity seems so difficult?

Best wishes

Who is there to meditate? Only awareness sees awareness.

When you see that you are being lived, that you are not in control of this life, the strange thing is that you act as if you were the doer,as if you were in control...that's the complete freedom, the freedom to be as a "me" with its judgments, opinions, pissed off states, and sense of doership...who cares whether there is a "me" or not? of course there could be a total disappearance of the sense of doership and everthing could be experienced in a different way,and so what? what would be gained by that?
The sense of "me" is completly free to be there, what freedom!...guilt,being critical, selfish, all that is related to a "me" are part of the play, they are not a problem if there is the deep understanding that I don't control none of that!
so be critical, judgmental, selfish, pissed off, joyful, what you are is both all of that and none of that! who cares if what I said is neo or pseudo advaita? :-)

Who is there to have "a deep understanding?" No one there, nothing happening. There is no way out! "When you no you are everything, that is LOVE." Awareness is all seeing and knowing engulfed in LOVE.

Ah,I was sure the advaita police was moving around!:-) it's quite impossible to express oneself on a non duality blog without being corrected or even censured! I am not interested in saying the good words, simply because it's not about words...what I was saying above is just a sharing without any kind of pretention, especially the pretention to be advaitacally correct!...:-)

RB said...

Who is there to be corrected? Not what you think. There is no seeing, knowing, or understanding in thoughts. A movement of energy, yes!

bibi said...

RB,
you will have the first price for advaita correctness! :-)

You are chasing your tail my friend. But it fun to watch it's true. However, THERE IS NO WAY OUT and actually THERE IS NO WAY IN. It is all THAT!

Amen!

Irrelevent conversation; isn't it beautiful. It's been going on in me all my life.

RB said...

What 'me'; what 'all my life'; what is 'relevent' or 'irrelvent'?

The only fact you know for sure is I AM,being is...perhaps 20 or 30 years of seeking,to recognize this simple fact...isn't it ridiculous?? much ado about nothing indeed!!:-))

RB,
helpful hint:

Awareness does not 'see' awareness....there is only awareness

Nisargadatta said that there is something behind awareness. "The rock center of everything", if I recall correctly. But to your point, awareness illuminates ideas, sensations, strung out thoughts vindicated by the "ME". Without awareness there is no duality to arise. Objects rise in awareness and are illuminated as the waves on the ocean appear because of the ocean, are illuminated by the ocean, and are the stuff of 'ocean'. There is this 'issness' but no explanation or understanding...none needed. It's momentary, shining, and joyful--moments of grace, grace, grace, grace....out to infinity. Let the mind stop for an instant and in that quiet moment you see you are that quiet moment. Duality arises in quiet tranquility. Awareness sees/illuminates that duality...niti, niti. I am not what I validate; I am not what I unvalidate. It's really nothing to know or can be known. Here there is a full stop. It's all so diaphanous.

...just being is all that is asked... how loved must "we" be...?

Well, certainly loved beyond belief! Loved as much as we love, and ARE love. Can we fathom it? Can we BE what we ARE, and express it fully? Can we surrender to it willingly...? Can we LIVE it?

Mary, I found your blog just recently. I just want to say that I LOVE it. Your writing has me laugh heartily, and feel deeply. Besides, you're such a gorgeous-looking woman that your portrait alone would be enough to bring me back to this blog. ;-)

In gratefulness and love,

Svante

Mr. ODD-mark

Take a long drink of 'cold' water. You think the present will be more gratifying the more you look at said portrait and your story with the portrait becomes more and more enhanced. You are going down the path of all suffering. Believe it or not! How old are you?

Svante Odmark said...

Mr (I assume) RB,

Take a good look at Life! And drink whatever you like. :-)

Mr. Svante,

Who is there to see; who is there to drink and drink what? What is happening is what it is--'you' are.
No meaning or sense or portraits or jumping endorphines.
Be constant and sincere. "Be still and know that 'I am' God. Understand what you are not. Pointers without the words...hear without hearing, see without seeing. "When you are slapped in the face and rocked back", pray for that.
