Loss

Enlightenment is a loss. The loss of the belief in a separate person.

There is no gain. Just the recognition of what cannot be lost.

Simple as that.

Well said, Mary! Thanks for these words about loss.

Losing the false "me" reference feels like shedding a heavy burden that weighs nothing. To carry "me" (to believe), feels heavy. To lay "me" down (to stop believing), is to stop self-inventing, to forget. Nothing remains to recall unless belief happens. And that can't be memory, because it only happens now.

p.s. I've been getting duplicate comments from you for some reason, so I deleted one of them.
